My Style Inspiration

I posted the same link on my Daphne Photo Studio blog, but I wanted to take the time to write a little more about Kim since this is my personal blog and that means I can write about whatever I want:)Kim is one of my best friends and I miss her dearly since she and her husband moved to Chicago about 3 years ago. We met while going through the fine art photography program at DAAP and eventually became roommates for a couple years until we finished college and got married. During those last couple years of school, we were pretty much inseparable. We had almost every class together and I can honestly say that those were some of the best times of my life.

Kim may not know this, but she was always my style inspiration. She is so incredibly creative and leaves her artistic trademark on everything she does. In college, I always thought her photo projects were amazing and I always loved the way she decorated her apartments. And don’t even get my started on her hair or her wardrobe! She was and still is pretty much the cutest person (inside & out) on the planet and she has one of those infectious personalities that everyone loves.

I always knew that once we finished school and she was able to convince Scott (her husband) to move with her, she would be off to a big city to live the artist’s dream. Selfishly I must admit that I’m SO glad she chose Chicago because it is only a short road trip away from Cincinnati. Scott’s family is from Cincy, so with the many trips they make to Cincinnati every year and the trips we take up there, we have managed to remain close despite the physical distance. Donny and I are heading up to visit them in a few weeks and I can’t wait!!

Kim has always loved (and had a great eye for) interior design. She has recently taken this love to a new level with the start of her blog, Yellow Brick Home. Since purchasing their super cute condo in the trendy outskirts of downtown Chicago, Kim & Scott have been busy making it their own and sharing their style tips & tricks along the way. The fact that Kim is also a photographer adds lots of eye candy and provides her readers with the visuals we all crave.

Her most recent post features our home, and I’m thrilled that she thinks our little ranch in the heart of the West Side has style worthy of bragging rights. Please head over to her blog and check out the post to see our cute little house and read a little about my style inspiration. I also recommend adding Yellow Brick Home to your “blog-stalking” list because I guarantee you will come away with ideas for your own home no matter what kind of home you have.
