Happy New Year + week 24

Happy New Year!! I can’t believe it is 2010 already! This year I will celebrate my 10 year high school reunion, my 4 year wedding anniversary, Daphne Photo Studio’s 3rd year of business, my first Mother’s Day, Donny’s first Father’s Day, and possibly the most exciting…the birth of our son! I’m so excited for all this year has in store and so thankful for all of the blessings 2009 brought. I have another post planned for the highlights of 2009, so stay tuned for that in the near future.

I apologize that I have been MIA this past month. All of the business of the holidays on top of lots of shooting and editing to get done for Daphne Photo Studio took every spare minute of my time. Now that I am completely caught up on all of my editing, I will have more time in the coming weeks to get back to blogging on both blogs.

24weeks_bHow far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain: up 13lbs since pre-pregnancy
Sleep: not so good lately, but I think it is mainly since I’ve been sick…it seems like my whole family caught the sinus/cold/yuck bug that was going around
Best moments this MONTH: visiting Kim & Scott in Chicago, spending time with family over the holidays, getting cute baby stuff for Christmas, catching up with old friends who were in town over the holidays, ringing in the new year last night with great friends
Movement: He is super active!! Donny got to feel him kick for the first time on Christmas morning and it was such a great present for him (especially since we didn’t exchange gifts with each other this year)
Food cravings: I’ve been eating jellied cranberry sauce almost every day since Thanksgiving and still can’t get enough of it
Gender: BOY!!
What I miss: wearing jeans…I’ve been living in leggings for the last few weeks because they are about the only thing that fits. My maternity jeans are still too big and my regular jeans aren’t comfortable to wear with a belly band anymore.
What I am looking forward to: I’m really looking forward to a less busy photography schedule in the coming months so I can really focus on getting ready for the baby and savoring these last couple of months with Donny before our lives are changed forever
Milestones: 6 months along

From BabyCenter:

“Your baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he’s almost a foot long, he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he’ll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing “branches” of the respiratory “tree” as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon”.
